この前NHKの「クローズアップ現代」というニュース番組でやっていましたが、イギリスでは、保守党のサッチャーの時に何百万人という大量の失業者がでたそうです。
福祉予算で彼らをすくってきたけれども、国の財政を圧迫していました。
そこへ労働党のブレアがでてきて、「自立のための福祉」として失業者が自立するように支援する政策をとり、一定の成果がでたと報道されていました。
報道のとおりブレア首相が失業者を減らすということを第一の目標にかかげているならば、その点については評価できました。
でも、一番、いいのは、「かわりの仕事を世話せずに解雇してはならない」という法律を作ることだと思います。
「そんなことをしたらサボル人間がでてくる」という声が聞こえてきそうですが、職がなくて働けない人に失業手当てを出すよりは、合理的なのではないでしょうか。
